Shantanu & Nikhil present 'The Resurgence' at India Couture Week

Design duo Shantanu & Nikhil presented a menswear and womenswear collection titled ‘The Resurgence’ at the Fashion Design Council of India’s India Couture Week online on Monday.

Shantanu & Nikhil’s latest couture collection showcased the designers’ signature sharp tailoring and modern approach to traditional wear. The collection featured men’s and women’s traditional wear staples, such as lehengas, gowns, and sherwanis, as well as more experimental pieces, such as small capes and draped looks, contrasted by more structured pieces.

Dark jewel tones and metallics were contrasted with pops of white, as models walked around the striking architectural structures of The Roseate in New Delhi. The brand’s film mixed colour with black-and-white cinematography and was accompanied by an instrumental soundtrack.

“The Resurgence by Shantanu & Nikhil is an ode to hope, it is the spirit to resurface and recommence our duties to the universe,” the FDCI announced on Facebook, as it launched the digital showcase. “With an almost spiritual connotation to the capabilities of cyclic existence, the collection celebrates a renewed strength and power to adapt and rise again.”

The digital showcase featured jewellery by Archana Aggarwal Timeless Jewellery; hair and makeup by Luna; cinematography by Neeraj Hinduja; and models Lakshmi Rana, Sonali Kasahay, Sonali Sharma, Sony Rockstar, Imran K, and Bardeep Dhiman.

Shantanu & Nikhil led the film’s concept and direction and production was managed by Karma.
