You don't need to know the difference between a three-card and a Celtic cross spread to get the most out of a tarot card reading. All you need: your Sun sign! Here's what I do: Shuffle my tarot deck and pull out the cards in order from Aries to Pisces, plus one general card for everyone so that you can get specific advice around your personality. Let’s go!

A GENERAL CARD FOR EVERYONE: TWO OF SWORDS

Rider-Waite deck/Raydene Salinas Hansen

The Two of Swords brings cutting, sharp energy. It enters the picture when we’ve dithered over something for far too long. It’s time to make a decision and see it through with confidence. When you can’t make your mind up, opt for the choice that represents change. There’s a reason you’ve reached this crossroads, and it’s probably not so you can just keep on with the same old thing. Strike a new path.

ARIES: PAGE OF COINS

Rider-Waite deck/Raydene Salinas Hansen

Live and learn, Aries. Whatever comes at you this week, if you see it as lesson you can take something from, you’ll end up enjoying the experience. The Page of Coins reminds us that a lesson is a lesson no matter how it comes to us, and these lessons never stop. Turn a challenge into an opportunity to become more self-aware, and find out what makes others tick, too.

TAURUS: THREE OF WANDS

Rider-Waite deck/Raydene Salinas Hansen

You’re a deliberator, a thinker, and an analyst. You don’t enjoy having to act quickly or spontaneously; you’d rather sit and ponder a while. Sorry Taurus, but this week you need to be ready to respond to whatever opportunities arise. Don’t miss out! Opportunities are coming your way.

GEMINI: FIVE OF WANDS

cartoon, fictional character, illustration, fiction, art, superhero, comics, metal,

Rider-Waite deck/Raydene Salinas Hansen

Tension with someone who already irritates you comes to a head this week with the stressful Five of Wands. Better out than in, Gemini! Let them say their piece, then do what you do best: Outwit them. Their emotional outburst renders them weak, and you’re poised to step in and take it all. It’s actually kinda fun. See this as a little game. Spoiler: You’ll win.

CANCER: THREE OF SWORDS

Rider-Waite deck/Raydene Salinas Hansen

If there's anyone around you who has been disloyal, shady, unkind, or unfair to you recently (how COULD they!), take a break from being around them. The Three of Swords comes to tell us to remove ourselves from a relationship's gone sour. Don’t try and fix this. Distract yourself with people who DO have your best intentions at heart.

LEO: JUSTICE

justice

Rider-Waite deck/Raydene Salinas Hansen

Justice is a major theme in your life—it's something you think about often. Leos have an innate protective streak, which is activated when you see vulnerable people being exploited or unjust scenarios playing out. You often jump in to rescue whoever needs a strong arm and a big heart. Get involved this week, because your strength is needed to help put things right.

VIRGO: THE HANGED MAN

Raydene Salinas Hansen/Rider-Waite deck

The Hanged Man reveals that you’re in some kind of limbo. Something you’ve been working on has stalled and you feel frustrated. Virgo, don’t bang your head on a brick wall. Take a step back and review the situation from many different angles. There’s a perspective that will reveal the way forward, but you’ve got to look at this upside down, sideways, and back to front to find it! You’ll actually probably enjoy the process, because you have a sharp brain and quick wits.

LIBRA: EIGHT OF SWORDS

Raydene Salinas Hansen/Rider-Waite deck

We all sometimes let our anxieties get in our own way, and the Eight of Swords reveals you're self-sabotaging right now. You're letting your scared, inner voice dictate your actions and limit your potential. Ignore your inner critic. Push out of your comfort zone and into a new space. You’re ready for this.

SCORPIO: EIGHT OF COINS

Rider-Waite deck/Raydene Salinas Hansen

Don’t give up, Scorpio, even though it feels difficult and even draining. This is the darkness before the dawn! The Eight of Coins tells you to keep on grinding, even if you feel like quitting. The prize is worth it, and you’d regret it if you packed it all in now. Keep on going, my friend.

SAGITTARIUS: QUEEN OF WANDS

Raydene Salinas Hansen/Rider-Waite deck

Your tarot queen IS the Queen of Wands, so you’re in an exuberant, adventurous, and joyful mood this week. Share the love, spread the positive vibes, and give your energy where it’s most needed (you’ve got plenty to spare). Travel (safely), socialize, experiment, take chances, love, live, enjoy, indulge! Magic energy follows you around this week, blessing you with success and good luck.

CAPRICORN: SIX OF CUPS

two of cups tarot

Raydene Salinas Hansen/Rider-Waite deck

Look back, Cap, and make sure there’s not something (or someone) you’ve left behind that actually deserves to be a part of your future. The Six of Cups is a nostalgic card, prompting us to revitalize a connection or activity we once found great happiness with. Sometimes, the timing just isn't right. But things have changed. It might be different now. Take a wander down Memory Lane and see what (or who) draws your attention.

AQUARIUS: QUEEN OF CUPS

Raydene Salinas Hansen/Rider-Waite deck

Some people think you’re cold, which isn’t really fair. You just don’t like wearing your heart on your sleeve. You feel things just as much as everyone else, you just don’t always show it. They’ll all be surprised this week, because the Queen of Cups puts you in a more emotional mood than usual. If you want to be private, scale back your plans and make time for self-care and solo relaxation. If you need to share your feelings, book time with your faves and tell them everything.

PISCES: PAGE OF WANDS

Rider-Waite deck/Raydene Salinas Hansen

The Page of Wands can bring a frenetic, even panicky, energy into our world. Maybe you’re worrying about something and trying to fix it, but in a stressed and impatient mood. You’re starting a lot of fires, most of which fizzle out. Instead of trying to reignite them or work out why, you move on to the next. It’s tiring and it’s ineffective. Slow down, breathe, break it down and tackle each piece of the problem steadily and methodically. You can get more done with less haste.
